I could be biased because I do personally like Macron and would have voted for him in the first round too, but I feel like he's gonna win the second round.

I agree. I have a lot of qualms with his Administration but overall, he seems like a good guy just trying to do his job. Doesnt help that the rest of France is something of a circus at the moment.

So I'm happy to voice support for Macron. Even if I'd like to see a better conservative option.

Macron. Let's go eat some. They can be very delicious 🙂

I would have voted Pecresse tbh but Macron was my second choice lol

I was for her initially but after the play to the "Great Replacement" crowd, I just couldn't reasonably support her unless she retracted the rhetoric. I don't think she's a bad person. But I do think she tried to play to the bad crowd. And look where it got her....

Yeah that kinda threw me off too tbh.

You have proven to be REALLY bad, in a short period, to snidely insult me constantly, defend obnoxious and offensive behaviour by your, "friends," and tell me I'm somehow to blame for it or that it's, "acceptable," solely because I'm the target of it, and other low-minded and offensive claptrap. This has already been verifiably proven. The posts are still on this site. And, Hestia's reaction, regardless of claims of me, "showing off intelligence and dead religions (which are only dead as religious practices, but their toxic mentalities plague the modern zeitgeist horribly, which was a part of my point you obviously failed to pick up on," it was still way over the top, vicious, insulting, accusatory of saying or meaning things completely untrue, and following in a bad pattern of misrepresenting my posts in disingenuous, slanderous, and venomous ways to attempt discrediting me in the most lowly of way that has become common on this forum, and was WAY out of proportion over any behaviour of mine at the time for abusive quality. You are DEAD WRONG in your analysis of the situation, and insulting so. YOU FAIL AGAIN! And I am AFRAID of the Duopoly - I just clearly see it for what it is, which so many are hoodwinked otherwise, or refuse the the enormity it's become and that it deserves full disempowerment and to face the justice it's leaders have wrongfully avoided for so long.

Patine, I'm sorry, I've tried to reach out before in a more respectful manner, but the issue here is that I've observed no change in your behavior between those previous interactions and now. I have tried with you, even when you were insulting my friends and showing some of the worst of your behavior. But, in all this time, I haven't noticed any change from you, despite your claims that you would listen to some of my arguments and do better. This has happened before. You've made a bad argument, and sure, I'm sure I've argued a bad position in the past, but the issue is you argued your viewpoint from a mindset of false moral and intellectual superiority with a toxic and rude attitude towards the arguments of those who disagreed with you. I'm sorry, but saying "It is a destructive, ruinous, misguided, anti-intellectual, unethical, unthinking, and monstrous viewpoint, that you, and any other decent, good, moral person, who loves their world and wants a decent, livable future should denounce and abandon, completely, forever." as the final word against someone who is just saying that the idea a liberal democracy like France would be out to kill people as a means of election manipulation is a conspiracy theory, is, well, fucking insane. You do this again and again, where you chide your opponent's argument as misguided, a corrupted viewpoint coming from evil "Manichean" thinking. Maybe you can just engage with Hestia's points respectfully rather than putting on this false dance of moral and intellectual superiority? Perhaps you can engage with people with an understanding that maybe, just maybe they've arrived at their conclusions through paths of thought and life experiences which you can hope to understand and learn from, even if you still believe their argument is incorrect? People pull away from you because of your conduct. They dislike you because you shame their arguments as coming from a "monstrous viewpoint" instead of actually engaging with their points and how they arrived at them. I don't know you Patine. I know your line of work can be stressful, and I understand life is shitty sometimes. But none of that can excuse your repetitive, toxic behavior on this forum, or your indignant response when people do the sensible thing and stop interacting with you or just clown on you. Know that I'm not going to interact with your response to this. I have told you this time and time again. You can choose to learn and be better, improving this forum and yourself, or you can just expect that people will continue to pull away from you or make humor out of you, because your behavior is the largest variable affecting these interactions, Patine.

Your still stuck on your arrogant, high horse, insulting claptrap. Do you have any idea how you really come across when, "trying to engage with me," or, "reach out to me?" Do you have any idea? You sound downright condescending, arrogant, and only capable of seeing one viewpoint - that of your, "friends." You say everything is because of my, "toxic viewpoints and behaviours," and I am the ONLY one who needs to change, and everything is about how I treat your, "friends," Did you EVER consider, for a minute, it take two to Tango, as the idiom I say? That your friends may also be toxic, and have obtuse viewpoints, and make no attempt to remedy situations or change their behaviours for the positive, either? And that maybe I feel that me unitlaterally trying to change always futile because some of your, "friends," just take it as an opportunity to be jackasses to turn up the heat to deliberately try to make me fail? I admit, i have some unorthodox, non-establish views (though, for the record, I did not say once I specifically BELIEVED the assassination rumour - I just said it shouldn't be dismissed off-hand JUST BECAUSE it's a First World Government, alone, and that all I said was only speculation and musing, and that I didn't know anything for sure, and Hestia shouldn't pretend he did - this is obviously stated in my original post on the issue), but I do not trust a lot of elements about modern First World Government many - though not all - posters here trust all too much, more than they should, and there are so many instances and so much evidence that is PROVABLE or even COMMON KNOWLEDGE that makes such trust and faith very foolish to have. The people must DEMAND - and settle for no less - than accountability, transparency, and honesty, and an end to seditious secrets, and impunity from their Governments, and REAL consequences for transgressions by politicians in office, and said politicians to behave like the PUBLIC SERVANT title in ALL of their job descriptions, not just say, "it's better than Third World nations, so we'll settle." And start developing a complex that shocking or insidious Government abuses only ever happen - or can happen - in the Third World, and don't, and can't happen in the First World, and only, "conspiracy theorists," would dare say otherwise.

And, going back to the allegation that I, "cause all problems on this forum, and my toxic conduct and behaviour is what needs changing (and all that needs changing), and I should take responsibility for my actions and stop blaming others," - I am so bone of this objective and provable LIE, insult, both to me, and to the intelligence of everyone here, this denial of reality, and this lopsided, disgusting declaration that the other bad actors - who, themselves, are also very toxic, very prone to insults (and often personal, and not just ones based on the viewpoints stated in a post - I rigorously try to avoid personal insults, the others I speak of have no such misgivings), they use a juvenile form of mockery of tomfoolery that further kills any credibility they may have otherwise held, as well as dogpiling and coordinating toxic behaviour (which I believe made Hestia's outburst on alleged but incorrect views of what I was in the most insulting and hyperbolic ways of stating more likely than it would have been to happen, otherwise) - that these bad actors have no, "blame," and you won't call them out under any circumstances, because they're your, "friends," and me calling them out, "insults," them, so I must take the blame. Can you not understand how IMMENSELY counter to - well, any values of civilized, rational, and good conduct - this is for you to expect me to swallow? And that you all chant this madness as if it were something at all credible? This is on par with among the most irrational, over-the-top, and out-of-proportion verdicts of the quarters-sessions courts of 1500's England!

But the fact is, your, "friends," are fully complicent in, and responsible for their behaviour, and must be held fully accountable. There is a lie started by vcczar, carried on by Dobs, and reiterated by you, that I never admit to the problems I cause here, and always try to blame others for my actions. The fact is, I am the ONLY one who has admitted to my hand in these affairs, and I seek to have others held responsible for their part, not mine. Your, "friends," indeed do what they do out of their full and knowing volition and choice, with relish and glee, and impunity - I do not, "make," them do a damned thing, or, "force their hand," and the notion is frankly ridiculous, and beneath contempt as a concept. It's time to stop scapegoating me for EVERYTHING (scapegoating is a loathsome and vile tactic beloved of infamous far-right movements that everyone on this forum professes a hatred and revulsion for), and realize that I can only do so much until your, "friends," pony up to their responsibility and part in these affairs and make an effort to knock off their toxic behaviour - and that people like you stop defending their toxic behaviour with disingenuous and faux high minded and conciliatory posts like yours.

The people should also demand from public officials that their allegations and accusations be accompanied by some level of evidence. To reward this kind of behavior with more seriousness than it deserves is not demanding accountability, transparency, or honesty from government, but actually the opposite. Melenchon is a member of the National Assembly with a much larger platform than the average person and more resources than most, so if he is going to level such accusations, you should demand from him some shred of evidence instead of demanding that others disprove a negative.

And this is why groups like the CIA, MI6, the Mossad, and other First World Nations' analogs, (including the French) are so egregious. They are usually the targets of these speculations, and very likely suspects for them First World Governments do these things (however much more rarely), as First World Governments don't keep SS, Brownshirts, Blackshirts, Red Brigades, etc. on staff, marching through the streets. Of course, because these alphabet soup agencies operate above and beyond ordinary laws (Unconditionally, illegally, and treasonously, for both the agencies and those in Government who utilize their services or arrange their funding - but this is seditiously ignored by fiat, like most criminal and civil consequences against First World political figures in office), investigations into evidence of such allegation, face not just stonewalls, but those metal airlock blast doors that facilities have in spyfi movies. It's a great racket - if you're a soulless, psychopath advising a paranoid, insecure high-ranking person in Government. It's unacceptably monstrous, otherwise. And, I reiterate, I never said I BELIEVED the claims or Melenchon, I just warned against dismissing them off hand because it was a First World Government alleged, alone, and said several times I didn't know the truth, and cautioned others to not pretend they did. The alphabet soup problem I also demonstrated as to why, "providing evidence, or it's automatically baseless," (ignoring the fact that France uses the Napoleonic Law System, and not the Common Law system, and thus evidence is NOT necessarily on the burden of the prosecution, but defaulting to Common Law views for all countries is so easy, I know), is made very difficult by seditious secrecy that has no legal or Constitutional right or allowance to even exist.

"The French Revolution's Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen declared that suspects were presumed to be innocent until they had been declared guilty by a court." Even under Napoleonic Law, there exists the presumption of innocence, and that shouldn't be waived away because organizations like the CIA and MI6 exist. I truly don't understand your point or why it is so difficult to say that a public official should avoid making such serious allegations and accusations of an orchestrated murder plot without any evidence whatsoever.

I passed several years of law in France

In criminal law, traditionnaly the doubt benefits to the accused just like in Common Law and we have jurees for criminal offenses since the french revolution.

And here ends the facade, farce, and insulting, self-serving lie that you had ever, "tried to reach out to me, or reason with me." If your recent posts, and the ones from a few months, ago are meant to be such attempts, you must have been exposed to some very odd and bizarre subculture with alien and jarring definitions of those activities than I, or anyone else I know that I ever discussed the topic, or a similar one, with, would recognize in that vain. Where I come from, fresh new barrages of insults, accusations, false allegations, and disingenuous claims of exclusive blame to a whole toxic problem, while defending their toxic and odious friends from all guilt, when they greatly deserve such indictment and are very much part of the problem, as well as well as grossly misrepresenting the events and statements that led to the incident, is not in the least, "trying to reach out to some one, or reason with them." I have no idea who taught or raised you in this matter, but they seem downright strange, and even a bit repugnant to me.

I think Le Pen has definitely softened her image with her photos of her with cats, her dropping her original plans to get out of the Euro, and her selfie with a Muslim woman.

One of Macron’s ministers called Le Pen soft on Islam. That’s quite a shift.
