Yeah, so it did fail but because it was a crisis legislation it still carried a penalty. I’ll double check and fix the check mark though.

Ich_bin_Tyler
1878 Gubernatorial Elections In an environment favoring the Whigs, Democrats held their own in the elections. Dems flipped DU, MD, MI, UT; while Whigs flipped LA, MA, WV. GA, IA, IN, NE were tied but tipped to their natural leans in the recounts. If the states had went Dem, then Dems could have claimed a larger victory than currently. The biggest moment of the night was the Dem flip of MI for the first time in 24 years. Whigs lead 22-20. Darker colors are flips, lighter colors states that did not hold elections. Edited May 23, 2023 by Ich_bin_Tyler
Ich_bin_Tyler
1878 House Elections While the statewide races leaned Democratic, Whigs made major gains in the House and flip it by gaining 63 seats (mainly from flipping NY and OH). The two leftmost Whigs factions combined control 49% of the House. Whigs control the House 188-109.
