Committee Votes (need 50%+1)

  • Henry L Mitchell not approved 11-11.
  • Lucas M Miller not approved 9-11.
  • John W Davis approved 12-10. ✔️
  • Barnes Compton approved 11-10. ✔️
  • Eli C D Shortridge not approved 5-17 (Reason: LW Populist).
  • Stephen A Douglas not approved 10-12.
  • Henry B Payne not approved 11-11.
  • John Gill Shorter not approved 5-17 (Reason: Controversial).

I'm thinking the rules for confirmations might need to be tweaked again because in an era of very few cabinet nominees failing, we are really having a lot. I'm thinking the Pliable trait being a 50/50 is throwing a lot of things askew. Maybe it becomes a chance that they vote how their leader in that chamber votes instead of their faction. I've seen enough of these failures that it's not seeming right to me.

Full Senate Vote (need 60% or 52)

  • John W Davis not confirmed 38-48.
  • Barnes Compton not confirmed 40-46.

So now PPT Fessenden needs to provide 5 options and Pres Cobb select. I'll take care of all that behind the scenes and post when they are done.

Damn every single one failed.  That is terribly unrealistic.

I've been saying something is off for a while but haven't had backup but it's really egregious this time.

Yea my tests involve all humans so when they fail its because the players banded together to reject them. This shows the CPU rules def need some tweaking.

Cabinet Compromises

Funnily enough, many of the nominees get selected but just swapped around. Still not a great thing to have to do though and could be avoided.

  • State: John W Davis
  • Treasury: Rep Stephen Mallory
    • George Sydney Hawkins is new FL Rep
  • War: Henry L Mitchell
  • AG: Joel Parker
  • Interior: Lucas M Miller
  • Agriculture: Sion Rogers
  • Spain: William Ralls Morrison
    • @matthewyoung123 do you accept?
  • China: Barnes Compton

Altogether this cabinet is awful for lobbies so I would expect a lot of swings to red.

Yeah, but not sure how to do it other than to maybe in earlier eras have the CPUs basically vote to confirm unless someone has low admin or some negative traits. Then add more partisan things in later eras but just throwing ideas out there mainly.

I'm feeling this in 1776 Ted test. A red senate means if I want a nominee its either is a red ( which I can't do as there's 1 singular red who meets cross part requirements of "unique" president Paine) or sacrifice someone to fail and let the PPT give 5 randos as any blue that doesnt automatically go through fails. And since he only have the big 4 that means anyone who isn't an ambassador automatically fails
