Abortion & Planned Parenthood:

Support the Women's Health Protection Act, and work to fund essential healthcare services as provided by Planned Parenthood and other orgs. Abortion is one of the GOP's greatest liabilities on the modern political scene, so use the bully pulpit to center Democratic messaging on abortion and other social issues where Republicans are weak. 

 

Gay marriage and LGBT adoption:

These are settled issues in the eyes of the American people, and as President, I would defend past progress while advocating against extreme elements in the GOP seeking to reopen closed debates and impose their fanatical views on the nation.

 

Gender transition/identity:

Protect trans rights to the maximum extent possible at the Federal level, and that includes protecting the medical freedom of families seeking healthcare for a trans minor. Use any means necessary to shoot down state governments and localities violating these civil rights.

 

Gun laws/regulations:

Simply support common-sense restrictions and steer clear of significant Federal reforms. Call out extremes on both sides of the issue, including Democratic overreaches such as in New Mexico. 

 

First Amendment/Hate speech/social media censorship:

This is not a matter of Federal policy for my administration, and as President, I will not bother myself with Twitter's TOS. 

 

Anti-racism/racism:

I would consider the defeat of systemic racism in America to require a two-pronged approach. On one flank, end the war on drugs and work towards legitimate police reform, demilitarization, and reorientation around communities. On the other, we need material change by way of cash inflow supporting businesses, schools, and individuals (by way of reparations, yes) in black neighborhoods, and also by addressing issues such as food deserts with direct government action (Chicago is considering a municipal-owned grocery store, and Federal funding could go a long way supporting similar projects nationwide). 

 

Government mandates during epidemics/pandemics:

Follow the lead of the CDC and other experts on policy recommendations, though allow states flexibility in the extent of their responses. 

 

Supreme Court/reform:

The Supreme Court has thoroughly lost credibility, and by way of a decades-long political project by the religious right, has become, in effect, an arm for policymaking by conservatives, even if the individual justices do not see themselves this way (except for Clarence Thomas, fuck him). However, while the court has been hijacked, I have to resist the urge to pack it, simply on the practicality grounds that it would only spiral into an endless back-and-forth between the parties. So, publicly oppose recent decisions such as Dobbs, and appoint liberal justices in office, continuing the unsaid game of partisan jockeying for control over the court. 

 

Election reform/gerrymandering:

Support top-four ranked-choice voting as in Alaska, nonpartisan redistricting, entirely publicly funded elections, election day as a holiday, and automatic registration. 

 

Social Security/Welfare/Bailouts:

$1,200 universal basic income funded by a land-value tax. Rather than potentially fueling inflationary cycles by tying it directly to CPI, only hold UBI to 2% yearly increase. Beyond that, amend Social Security to allow full payouts even after the trust fund is exhausted, borrowing if necessary to fulfill future obligations instead of creating an artificial crisis via the payroll tax limitation. 

 

Education/Student Loans:

Wipe all current student loan debt, and then focus reforms on clearing administrative bloat in the university system to lower costs, installing free community college, and increasing academic grants for high achievers.

 

Big Pharma/Drug prices:

Allow Federal negotiation of drug costs, deregulation in necessary areas, and expand Federal subsidies for low-income consumers to meet market drug prices. 

 

Obamacare:

Work towards Medicare-for-All-Who-Want-It.

 

Drug laws/War on Drugs/Marijuana:

End the war on drugs, legalize cannabis and psychedelics, and decriminalize hard drugs for personal use, continuing to punish dealers and suppliers. Support rehabilitation services.

 

Lobbyists/corruption:

As mentioned above, replace the current campaign finance system with complete public funding for candidates who reach a certain signature threshold, depending on the race (also, ensure review process is nonpartisan and clean, as this is an issue on the local level). If a candidate refuses public funding, they may receive small-dollar and personal donations, though no PAC support. 

 

Minimum Wage/Unions/Labor:

On the minimum wage, raise to at least $15 an hour, tied to inflation, and on unions, you'll either be a union man, or a thug for J.H. Blair.

 

Corporations/Business:

On public works, phase out PPPs in favor of Federal jobs programs, however, maintain Federal subsidies for essential industries and sectors. 

 

Environment/Climate:

Support version of Green New Deal prioritizing a broad energy strategy including green and nuclear energy. Support walkable urban development and public transit, and make preparations for climate disasters along coastal areas, as well as for influx of climate migrants. 

 

Natural Resources/Oil/Alt-energy:

Support oil industry in the short-term to address gas prices and Saudi dependence, but sooner or later, wean off and provide soft landing for workers in fossil fuel industries.

 

Trade/NAFTA/tariffs:

Protectionists hate the global south and third world economic development. 

Furthermore, job losses in manufacturing can be offset by deficit spending. Also, vocalize a strong dollar policy to maintain current trade of dollars for cheap goods from abroad. 

 

Cryptocurrency:

Regulate until it's dead.

 

Immigration/Borderwalls/Deportations:

Path to citizenship for undocumented, promote humane practices in border enforcement, and streamline process for legal immigration. 

 

Police reform:

Police budgets are heavily bloated as of now, and reform comes by way of demilitarization, emphasis on community policing, and increased accountability preventing departments from getting away with "paid leave" after brutality incidents.

 

NATO/UN:

Support both NATO and the UN as essential organizations for democracy abroad. Encourage European rearmament and involvement in NATO. 

 

Israel/Palestine:

Israel has been following a dark path in recent years, and the United States needs to distance from their government and begin substantively threatening our support for them until they step away from the ledge of authoritarianism and improve conditions for Palestinians. Then, work towards two-state solution and maintain support for Israel as a democratic beacon in the region and important ally.

 

Russia/Ukraine:

Support Ukraine with every means possible short of boots on the ground, until Russia has retreated in defeat. 

 

China:

Continue our obligations to Taiwan, and work with East Asian countries to build genuine economic and military bulwark against China. 

 

Iran:

Support anti-regime sentiments and movements by whatever means available but ensure war with the US or civil collapse is prevented, as we don't need another Iraq or Syria. 

 

Syria:

And on Syria, provide material and limited ariel support to Rojava, and largely avoid intervention beyond this. 

 

Terrorism:

Continue Biden policy of scaling-down drone war, but continue covert/intelligence operations, and support friendly governments rooting out terror groups. 

 

Foreign Aid:

Support humanitarian aid to most countries, except those currently engaged in genocide/egregious human rights violations. 

 

Infrastructure:

Support beefed up infrastructure bill and provide funding for cities moving towards walkable/public transit-oriented urban policy.

 

Military Spending:

Increase spending to maintain American advantage abroad, though promote intra-alliance multipolarity by way of other NATO countries similarly increasing their military budgets.

 

Domestic Spending:

The United States is perfectly capable of running long-term deficits, and these are fine given the proper aims. 

 

IRS/Fed Reserve/Taxation:

Don't Tread on the Fed, and don't evade your taxes. Close loopholes, install a carbon tax, and oppose a wealth tax or increased corporation tax as means of reducing wealth inequality, as neither will work towards that end. 

 

Other topics not included above:

Majorly increase NASA funding. It's long past time we look to the stars again, rather than being wrapped up entirely in our petty bullshit on this earth.

The right to bear arms is a basic Constitutional right and expresses the democratic principle of self=defense against tyrannical government.  It is not the gun it is the person.  Most gun owners use guns safely and responsibly.  To reduce gun-related crimes, address mental health issues not attack guns.  

First Amendment/Hate speech/social media censorship:

I believe in the First Amendment and I think hate speech, on both sides, should be shut down.  if you may a threat you should be punished.  I think that if your going to censor social media then you should censor all sides not just the side you do not like. 

Anti-racism/racism:

Everyone has a right to be who they are.  No one should be attacked for their skin color or beliefs or religion. 

Government mandates during epidemics/pandemics:

The Government can suggest but I have a right to not wear a mask or get a vaccine or go anywhere I want without being told I cannot.  Police and others should not force us either. 

Supreme Court/reform:

I think the court should have a justice from each circuit court  area (aka 13) and each new justice should be from the circuit they are replacing.  Justices should be made to retire at age 75 or after 12 years of being a justice whatever comes first.  Votes should be unanimous or 9 of 13. Congress and President have no right to interfere with the court.   

Election reform/gerrymandering:

ID requirements for voting are reasonable. Voter fraud undermines the most fundamental process of democracy, and we need to fight it. 

Social Security/Welfare/Bailouts:

Our retirement funds should not be entrusted to the government. The entire Social Security system should be run instead as we currently run IRAs, Keogh plans, 401(k)'s, and other private pension plans.

Education/Student Loans:

The government should not be in the business of running schools.  State-funded vouchers should pay for privately-run education at whatever schools parents choose as this helps the poor who otherwise would be stuck in failing schools.  Why should the elite only be the ones who can afford private schools? Student loans should be paid off by the government but through Congress not Executive Action and colleges should not be so costly.  

Big Pharma/Drug prices:

While more thorough health coverage is a noble idea, further health coverage should be promoted through non-government means.

Obamacare:

Nationalized health care would entail a government takeover of a large portion of the economy and undue intrusions into our personal medical histories.  Remove the federal government from the health care industry.

Drug laws/War on Drugs/Marijuana:

The Drug War is winnable if we invest enough resources. We should do whatever we have to do: More police, more border patrols, more intervention abroad, more prison terms, more prisons

Lobbyists/corruption:

The best way to reduce the influence of big-money lobbyists and special interests is to remove as much money as possible from campaigning. Free television time would be a good start.

Minimum Wage/Unions/Labor:

Minimum wage should be raised to $13 an hour and tied to inflation.  Unions need to be curtailed. 

Corporations/Business:

Nothing to say here 

Environment/Climate:

We should establish a market-based solution for excess carbon emissions, and the problem will be solved. The Kyoto Protocol should require developing countries' participation to make the solution work.

Natural Resources/Oil/Alt-energy:

Drill in the US.  Fuck the Arab led monopoly.  Lower gas prices. If you want electric cars then do the investment first by putting electric chargers everywhere in the US in public and lower the cost. 

Trade/NAFTA/tariffs:

Free Trade should be replaced by Fair Trade. Free trade is not in our national interest when it poses a risk to job security, causes humanitarian problems overseas, or results in environmental damage. Globalization should focus on benefiting people instead of benefiting multinational corporations. 

Cryptocurrency:

To easy to destroy money.  Hard currency 

Immigration/Borderwalls/Deportations:

Maintain legal immigration while enforcing against illegal immigration. Tighten our borders - decrease substantially or stop all immigration so we can address domestic problems.

Police reform:

Some police are bad, most are good.  Police are needed.  Give good training and citizen police as well. 

NATO/UN:

United States military forces should never serve under other countries' commands; but multinational forces are acceptable under U.S. command. In general, the U.S. should consider her own national interests first, and then act with other nations in accordance with those interests.

Israel/Palestine:

Support Israel over Palestine. 

Russia/Ukraine:

Russia should have its leadership removed and forced to get out of Ukraine. 

China:

Keep China accountable for human rights violations.  Keep them out of other nations. 

Iran:

We should keep military action on the table for Iran, and we should prepare for that military action seriously. 

Syria:

We should keep military action on the table for Syria, and we should prepare for that military action seriously. 

Terrorism:

Should be attacked at the source.  Capital punishment for terrorist's.  

Foreign Aid:

Keep out of other people's issues. 

Infrastructure:

Nothing to say here 

Military Spending:

Build smart, not necessarily big. Money is often better spent on issues other than defense. We should cut back on troops stationed abroad and focus on quality of our troops instead of quantity.

Domestic Spending:

Money should be spent on domestic not foreign issues. 

IRS/Fed Reserve/Taxation:

 A Flat Tax would simplify the entire tax system. It would get rid of loopholes that drive tax-avoiding behaviors. And it would remove most deductions and the special interests that come with them. In the meantime, tax cuts benefit the economy in both good economic times and bad economic times.

Other topics not included above: Judeo-Christian values are American values. Belief in God is what America was founded upon, so tax-funding religious organizations, or praying in school, does not violate the separation of church and state. Displaying the Ten Commandments is appropriate because they are the moral basis for Western law. The Pledge of Allegiance should continue to include the phrase "Under God."

Introduce legislation to permit national access to maternal health options. No funding for elective abortion procedures. Increase access to contraception, sex education. And direct additional resources to foster/adoption/social services.

Gay marriage and LGBT adoption:

Same sex marriage is the law of the land. LGBT adoption through public services should be permitted. Private or religious based adoption might be on case by case due to religious freedom. 

Gender transition/identity:

Adults should be permitted to identify/ transition as relevant. Minors should be permitted to identify, but surgical medical procedures should probably wait until 18, barring research that says otherwise.

Gun laws/regulations:

Assault weapons ban. Military grade weapons ban. Institute gun safety training workshop following purchase of firearm. Universal background check on purchases with national red flag laws.  Cool down period of 1 week for purchases.

First Amendment/Hate speech/social media censorship:

False speech and hate speech should be flagged, but not infringed. Social media is private enterprise so look to terms and conditions. Look into a publicly operated social media space for measured discourse, "Twitter by PBS". 

Anti-racism/racism:

Though hate speech and thought are permitted through first amendment, racism should not be condoned or ignored. Open discussions on history of race in US. Study on Racial reparations.

Public health is a public good. Increase communication and understand how vaccines work. Implementation of mandate as a last resort in emergency.

Ethics reform, look to term limits of 15 years.

End partisan gerrymandering. End electoral college. Ranked choice voting across all federal elections. 

Social Security/Welfare/Bailouts:

Tie a wealth tax (1% on $9.999 million and higher) this goes directly to Social Security fund. Increase retirement age to 68 for those born after 1970.  Increase welfare payments based on inflation, increase food stamps. Limit corporate welfare beyond abrupt unemployment assistance. Penalize golden parachutes.

Education/Student Loans:

Universal prek. Universal school meals regardless of income. Institute a national civics course/program that is voluntary but must be offered at every public school. 

Big Pharma/Drug prices:

Subsidize research into life saving medication, project warpspeed to increase collaboration between firms and rarefied institutions. Price controls should be utilized rarely, but in the case of readily available, lifesaving products (insulin, EPI) they should be at reasonable levels. 

Obamacare:

"Out of network" penalties should not exist, or ships be much lower.  Public option should be available - Medicare for all. Incentive annual physicals for adults through gifts or discounts on healthy lifestyles. 

Drug laws/War on Drugs/Marijuana:

Decriminalization of Marijuana and immediately expunge criminal records of people imprisoned/fined on crime due to Marijuana.  Medical use should be state by state, recreation is legal nationally. Quality monitoring through FDA for medical grade or recreation grade.  Federal research on mushrooms for health purposes, state authorization possible. 

Lobbyists/corruption:

Minimum 4 year delay in going from elected official to lobbyist. Existing gift limits. If convicted of corruption/bribery then cannot run for elected office.

National 4 day work week. One year joint parental family leave from birth or adoption.  Tie Minimum Wage to National average for "living wage" at 32 hours a week.  Permit federal unions to strike. End to "right to work" laws and strengthen workers rights to organize.

Break up large Monopolies to foster competition. Support worker empowerment and leadership accountability. Highlight benefits of telework, work life balance, and environmental awareness. 

Environment/Climate:

Climate change is real. Large scale federal efforts and investments on conservation, disaster risk reduction, and community resilience. Investments needed in urban areas to limit ambient heat, and in river and costal areas to limit/ reduce affects of flooding. Utilize simple wins on climate adaptations (biotechnology, painting roofs white, desalination technology)

Natural Resources/Oil/Alt-energy:

Halt expansion of oil/gas acquisition beyond current levels. Increase investments in hydrogen fuel cell production, solar cells, and tidal-driven power. Increase longterm research in fusion, molten sand and salt batteries, and other near-future renewables.

Trade/NAFTA/tariffs:

Trade has benefits. Strengthen WTO enforcement against bad actors (China, India), increase trade agreements outside of large partners -> look to African countries and southeast Asia. Facilitate trade through open communications with existing trading partners like EU, Canada, Mexico, Australia-NZ, and Vietnam, among others. Increase focus on empowering labor when negotiating new and existing agreements. Expand NAFTA to potentially include Caribbean states. 

Cryptocurrency:

Study government oversight, potentially Regulate via existing SEC or currency exchange. 

Immigration/Borderwalls/Deportations:

No new wall construction, remove river murder barriers in Rio Grande. Continue deportation of illegal immigrants with criminal records. Develop amnesty pathways for DACA and long term tax paying illegal immigrants. Set a date by which if immigrants do not come forward for recognition they forfeit the right to stay. Update legal pathways to promote citizenship. 

Police reform:

Annual psych evaluations for officers. Third party review boards following misconduct. No more military purchases for police departments. 

NATO/UN:

Increase investment and focus on NATO, welcome Ukraine and Moldova as members within 20 years. At UN, give the African Union and Indonesia  permanent seats on the security council. Veto power should only be approved if 2 or more P5 (OR 7) members vote NAY.

Israel/Palestine:

Two states with UN managing Jerusalem or Unified Israel-Palestine with enforced protections and increased political influence for Palestinians. Support moderate voices in both states.

Russia/Ukraine:

If we can't break up Russia into a dozen sub-Russia states (Novgorod, Muscovy, Trans-Siberia, Chechnya etc. ) then at least return Ukraine's stolen territory in Donetsk and Crimea. Return to immediate territorial status pre "plebiscite". Support moderate officials in both countries. 

China:

If we can't break China into a dozen sub-China states, then continue engagement on regional and global issues such as North Korea, Iran, climate change, and food security. Focus on human rights concerns. Build upping partnerships in southeast Asia and Oceania to contain China's expansion. Subtly support Reformist voices.  Recognize Taiwan, if Taiwanese desire unfriendly and recognition. 

Iran:

Continue engagement from Obama and Biden administrations to limit nuclear program. Build partners in region with UAE, Israel, Saudi Arabiato contain influence. Subtly support moderate voices in the country.

Syria:

Increase humanitarian engagement.  

Terrorism:

Scale down extra-territorial interventions beyond observation, coordinated engagement with allies, and Intel gathering. Focus on domestic terrorism and national supremacy groups. 

Foreign Aid:

Facilitate aid to natural disaster areas. Continue financial and food aid to developing countries. Expand infrastructure development efforts in developing world to challenge China's efforts. 

Infrastructure:

High speed rail everywhere. Toll road companies should have a cap on expansion and tolls after 15 years. Then it goes to the state dot. Invest in rural internet. Invest in water filtration and drought risk reduction.  Update roads and bridges.

Military Spending:

Continue investments in upgrading Naval vessels. Increase research funding. Increase Funding to space force and satellite protection. Continue  levels of recruitment, or drop to pre-2003 budget levels. 

Domestic Spending:

Invest in rural hospitals, schools. Increase Funding to departments of transportation, education, HHS, Labor, and USDA.

IRS/Fed Reserve/Taxation:

In addition to wealth tax for social security, bring corporate rates back to pre-trump levels. Close deduction Loopholes for highest earners (above $1 million net). Eliminate ticky tack fees on online purchases. Establish limited carbon tax for corporations.

DC Statehood, Finalize Puerto Rico status, dramatically increase budgets of NASA, NIST, NOAA, Energy, and NIH.  Break up Homeland Security into Department of Security (physical border, data), Department of Citizenship (elections, Refugees, and illegal immigrant amnesty process), and Department of Risk Reduction (FEMA, Climate focused initiatives).

As someone that works in health insurance, I just want to point out all "out of network" is is the absence of a contract, and thus the default state.  You cannot force someone to enter into a contract.  That would upend the entire concept of common law, and likely civil law as well.  This also means, technically, it's not a penalty for out of network.  Out of network is the default state.  It's a benefit for going in network.

Everyone's out of network until they join the club, though, is my point.  Insurance carriers would absolutely love if everyone was in-network.  It cuts down on overhead.  It's generally the provider that doesn't want to join, because they can milk loopholes.  A lot of those loopholes are now being closed.  It isn't really about the rate, but balance billing.  The contract legally protects you, because after insurance pays you, the provider can't charge you extra, or else we'll break the contract with them and cut off their source of funding.  Out of network, there is no contract, so they will just charge you, because who's going to stop them?  Insurance generally pays the same either way.

I guess what I'm saying is, if you have insurance, you're covered everywhere. All 50 states. No questions asked. The only differing points will be the specific plans.

And technically speaking, I'm not opposed to that, just without another major reformed, it'd upend the concept of contract law.  You can't force someone into a contract. 

Insurance companies would actually love if everyone was in network.  It's generally the providers that are the ones who want to be out of network, again, because they can balance bill the patient and make more money.  Insurance is out about the same chunk of change either way, and the overhead savings by getting rid of network cost would be substantial (I work in the tech side, and I can personally attest that there'd be significant savings), and that'd lead to cheaper costs overall.

I mean, in my platform though, I'm for single-payer via nationalization though.

If large enough petition is ordered than a decision could be reversed with national referendum by popular vote (a national jury). Election reform/gerrymandering: BAN GERRYMANDERING, Allow a non partisan committee made up of mathematicians and random selection of people in the state. END ELECTORIAL COLLEGE, allow a ranked vote choice with a 5% party entrance.

 

Social Security/Welfare/Bailouts: END BAILOUTS, BREAK THE BANKS. lower the social security age, and introduce UBI with a tax on land and automation profits made by companies.

Big Pharma/Drug prices: regulate and break up companies, low- income will be given free drugs while richer you are then its based on income. extend drug research.

I know I have more radical views in government but these are close to my view but some might be a stretch. I do believe in moderating these but as a platform for primaries, this is what I would be going with.
Edit: Of course if I became nominee then I SERIOUSLY WOULD MODERATE THEM. while I do hope for these views, i mostly understand they are radical and unreasonable. Also I felt that these poll need something radical for leftist idk, I feel this is the progressive view. Please no need for any conservatives to be mad, I am just a simple masshole citizen😅

I love the diversity of platforms.

It really showed that the forum is not more conservative on average, but beyond that, some people can be tough on immigration while being democrats while others can be soft on immigration while being republican.

Also but no surprise some people are being much more conservative on abortion than on LGBT rights.

Sadly I seem to be one of the very few who tries to fix political appointments in the Supreme Court 😛 I think that I would love to have a Conservative Elector vs Barb election just to imagine how states would vote
