Suit Color Boll

  1. 1. Which suit color is the best in general?

Very close choice for me but I prefer the classic charcoal suit. One of my favorite outfits is a subtly patterned charcoal suit with a lavender/light blue shirt, sans tie (I really stopped wearing ties the past year and a half). I will concede that Navy is more versatile however, and can be more easily dressed up or down depending on the occasion, and would probably be better for a job interview.

A lot of my formal style was influenced by James Bond because that's all I'd watch as a kid. Either way, I like Navy Blue. Similar to the styles Daniel Craig wears at the end of Casino Royale, and in Spectre. 😛

If I must wear formals, I actually wear just dress shoes, dress pants, and a dress shirt, and not the jacket or tie. That style seems more common, by far, than it once was. Three of my cousins, my youngest brother, and I, all dressed in such fashion to my sister's wedding a couple of years ago. She didn't mind at all.

If she asked you to dress more formally beforehand would you have? Not trying to pry just curious why you're against formal wear.

Daniel Craig as James Bond in Tom Ford Suits 'No Time to Die'

Spectre Craig suit is epic... but... Casino Royale is childhood nostalgia so it's the best. 2000s come back. 😞

Of the two I definitely prefer Navy blue colored suits over grey suits, but black suits are superior to either of those.

My go to look for business wear is a black suit, a white shirt, and a red tie. Some people like the black suit, red shirt, black tie look, but that just doesn't look good to me, in my opinion, too many dark colors. That said, I only own one suit, and its an off the rack black one, so I'm by no means a suit connoisseur lol.

Without a doubt Blue, my first suit ever (and only suit I own) I got custom made and tailored, Navy blue and I usually wear a vest under it.

Looks super similar to this one

However can we all at least agree that wearing a pure black dress shirt should be a crime? (outside of bartending)

Can you explain this? I don't understand.

I’ve always followed the unwritten rule that a dress shirt should be lighter than the jacket. It’s really hard to pull off a black dress shirt with a suit. Or at least for me.

Purple with an orange dress shirt and a cyan tie, of course.

I have a purple velvet dinner jacket that I wear at restaurants that require a jacket. However, I wear jeans and a vintage button-up shirt with it.

I have actually worn that exact outfit at a party once (the John Travolta look. Wasn’t a dance party unfortunately I just wanted to be flashy). Gotta know the rules before you can break them. Except in my case the white suit was a lot more tailored than that example lol.

I could see it with a light grey suit for color difference but otherwise yeah
