MA and SC remain option B and one vote each in VA and SC.

Option B- All slaves count towards Electoral Vote total of states- DE, GA, MA, NC, PA, RI, SC, VA

Option C- Slaves not counted towards Electoral vote total of states- CT, NH, NJ

2 states left to vote- MD & NY. @ebrk85  In MD, you have 1 vote for B & 1 for C.

We have now adopted everything that needs to be passed to have a "Constitution"

However, before we conclude the convention, are there any other Amendments or provisions that the members would like to propose for a vote?

Action to @Cal @10centjimmy @ebrk85 @Largo833 @Willthescout7

Am I allowed to propose the bill of rights here?

To no one’s surprise, I would like to request a vote on-

-Banning slavery

-Voting rights for women

-Citizenship and voting rights for all races

So, we can't take up banning slavery since we already adopted the Option B for slave state compromise.  If we had adopted Option C, then we could have.  "Slave-State Compromise Option is forces as Option C" under abolish slavery special conditions.

However, we can take up the other ones.  Voting for women and citizenship & voting rights for all.  But Will expressed an interest in doing the Bill of Rights so I'm waiting for him to either propose all 10 initial ones at once OR propose them individually.  Then we can take up your proposals!

My interpretation of that rule was that we can still vote on banning slavery, but if it passes it will override our slave-state compromise decision and set it to Option C, since Option C being forced is listed as a result, not a requirement.  Though while we’re on the subject, I think it’s worth pinging @vcczar to ask if it would actually make more sense for Option B to be the forced result- under the actual debate that resulted in the 3/5 Compromise, free blacks were counted as full people, so logically all of the freed slaves would result in southern states getting Option B’s electoral vote boost.

OK, the "Bill of Rights" has been proposed to the Constitutional Convention.

To summarize-

1st Amendment- Freedom of religion, speech, press, assembly, and petition.

2nd Amendment- Right to keep and bear arms in order to maintain a well regulated militia.

3rd Amendment- No quartering of soldiers in Private homes.

4th Amendment- Freedom from unreasonable searches and seizures.

5th Amendment- Right to due process of law, freedom from self-incrimination, double jeopardy.

6th Amendment- Rights of accused persons, e.g., right to a speedy and public trial.

7th Amendment- Right of trial by jury in civil cases.

8th Amendment- Freedom from excessive bail, cruel and unusual punishments.

9th Amendment- Other rights belong to the people

10th Amendment- Other powers reserved to the states.

Action to @10centjimmy, @ebrk85, @Largo833, @Willthescout7, @Cal to vote.

AYE or NAY to these 10 Amendments.

It's a good question.

Although if you examine the history of that a little closer, freed slaves weren't considered "citizens" and therefore ineligible to vote until the passage of the 14th Amendment.

So you'd have to pass "free the slaves" option & everyone is a citizen and gets the right to vote option for Option B in slave state compromise to come into play.

True, but they were still counted as full people when counting each state’s population to determine representation in the House and Electoral College, which is what we were voting on in the slave state compromise decision.  Also-

Maybe we take up the other questions first.

If the compromise is passed, then you shouldn't be able to abolish slavery at the Convention, but once the US Congress is active, you should be able to try and abolish it that way.
