Is my faction considered a moderate faction because that's what I am or is it a conservative faction because of Haley? I'll try and post this by 6:30 AM ET because I work the rest of the day and I am mindful of moving this through.

Cards aren't updated until after the elections so your faction is moderate still. However, it will depend on what each step calls for. If it says faction ideology you are Mod but if it calls to use the candidates personal ideology it will be Cons.

For the platform scoring that is by faction cards so Mod for you.

Determining VP impact:

  • If the VP comes from another faction, then +1.  YES

  • If the ticket had a moderate, conservative, or liberal, then +1. YES

  • If the ticket is at least 20 years of age apart, then +1 YES (20yrs on the dot)

  • If at least one person on the ticket is older than 50, then  +1 YES

  • If at least one person on the ticket is younger than 60, then +1. YES

  • If one member (but not both) on the ticket is marked “independent” or is currently not holding office, then +1 because voters like an outsider. YES

  • If one member on the ticket is from a Big State and one from a Small State, then +1. NO

  • If the members on the tickets come from different regions, then +1. YES

  • If the VP DOES have obscure (roll 6-sided die): ROLLS A 2

  • 2: Obscure VP loses obscure and gains harmonious. +1 PT [None of this is an option if the VP has disharmonious]

Total Points: 8

(Got lucky the obscure roll point gave you the advantage)

Party Pref moves Blue +1 (now Red +1)

Platform Creation:

@jnewt

The presidential nominee must build a platform picking an economic legis, domestic legis, judicial legis, foreign/military policy legis, and presidential action that they promise to fulfill. Also, if there is an ongoing crisis, they must promise to resolve them. Failing to fulfill promises can hurt the party and reelection bids.

The president nom will pick these platform promises unilaterally or they will select a faction to pick the promise in order to sure up support. You can allow another faction to select a platform plank, the faction enthusiasm given the choice of a platform plank will have a 25% of improving that enthusiasm toward the party.

Keynote Speaker

@jnewt you also have the most Govs so you can select the Keynote Speaker

@pman @ShortKing Not sure why you both thought that. Going back in version history Party Pref was last updated on Jan 22nd at 638pm by me. Going from Red +3 to Red +2.  I'll go through the forum to see what it was that changed it then.

3 Crisis Bills passed and 3 Crisis bills failed. For failing to pass a majority of crisis bills their will be a Party Pref penalty. The President is likable so 25% chance the President is blamed and 75% the party that controls Congress is blamed.

Rolls 89/25 so Congress is blamed. Party Pref -1 Red

Total Meter Changes

Rev/Bud +3 (now a 4, crisis ends)

Mil Prep -1 (now slightly unprepared)

Party Pref -1 Red (now Red +2)

Libs +1 Blue (already maxed blue)

Mods -1 Blue (now Blue +2)

Cons +2 Red (already maxed red)

Trads +2 Red (already maxed red)

@pman @ShortKing So this is the change from Jan 22nd.  I'll through the rest to current time and see if there was another change back to Red +3 that I missed.

Comedian Jon Stewart will be the keynote speaker. We’ll also delegate the platform creation (but I’m unsure how that’ll work with Hestia’s faction). @Murrman104 can select the economic plank and @Vicx can select the judicial plank.

the CPU will 50% of the time pick a platform stance that favors their cards specifically; 25% pick a platform stance that favors the faction with the lowest score in their party; 25% pick a platform that favors the faction in their party with the lowest current enthusiasm.

So you'll have to decide whether the risk of letting the CPU pick is worth the potential enthusiasm boost. Also just a heads up Vicx has not been on in a week so I am likely going to have to CPU that plank as well if you are giving it to that faction.

Alright nevermind with Vicx then since he’s also liberal, but let the CPU pick the judicial plank for Hestia. Murrman can still pick the economic plank and I’ll pick the rest.

You’re right- totally forgot. On the positive- I forgot about the -1 for progressives too which might come i handy in what will no doubt be a close election.
