I anticipate a fruitful legislative period given all of us share one specific card, however... please someone (if not myself) propose this, and get this passed...

Don't let this playtest turn into the... whatever the Hell happened in the old Founding Fathers game @MrPotatoTed did back in 2021. Real ones know... 💀

2.5.3 Supreme Court Decisions

Points:

@Pringles 200

@WVProgressive 100

@DJBillyShakes 50

There are only 4 cases for this era and we managed to fire 3 of them. So don’t except to hear much from the Supreme Court after this half term HAHA

McCulloch v. Maryland

Does the Necessary and Proper Clause of the Constitution grant to Congress implied powers for implementing the Constitution's express powers?

Initial Vote:

Aye- 4 (Marshall, Washington, Moore, Paterson)

Nay- 2 (Cushing, Chase)

No votes swayed.

The Ayes have it 4-2

(This is the historical result)

500pts to Wall Street

Cohens v. Virginia

Are state laws in opposition to national laws void?

Initial Vote:

Aye- 3 (Cushing, Washington, Paterson)

Nay- 3 (Marshall, Moore, Chase)

No votes swayed.

The case is tied which results in the lower court’s ruling standing. (For game purposes this is randomized)

The result is the Nays prevail. (This is an ahistorical result)

An existing state's law cannot be overturned by legislation; Only an Amendment can overturn state laws that contradict national laws.

100pts to RW Activists

Dartmouth College v. Woodward

Does the Contract Clause of the Constitution apply to both public and private corporations?

Initial Vote:

Aye- 5

Nay- 1 (Moore)

No votes swayed.

The Ayes have it (This is the historical result)

100pts to Big Corporations

This totally won't have dire, and unforeseen future consequences!

Cabinet members that have 4 or 5 admin, or have crisis admin and are dealing with a crisis relevant to their department, can propose legislation connected to their department, which must then be approved by the president.

@ShortKing Sec Madison and @dkh64 Sec Gallatin may make a proposal related to their department

@jnewt Pres Jefferson is a Domestic Warrior and can propose one bill for the Domestic committee who is guaranteed a committee vote
