Despite a valiant effort to take California from Mexico (defended by Canada and France in what felt like World War I, taking place in both the US and Africa), we never did make it to the Pacific Ocean and even failed to retake isolated slivers of Oklahoma and Colorado from Mexico. We kept about 1/3 of Africa though. And part of Alberta. Slavery was banned, but we never did get women the right to vote. Socialist Party rose up towards the end of the game to have 46% support in a four-party system, so they're likely going to be there to stay for a while. I haven't heard of this issue. If you got the game on Steam, I'd post a message on the message board. Hopefully, there's a quick fix. vcczar Posted October 26, 2022 Share Posted October 26, 2022 I stopped my game in 1865, about 5 years after slavery was banned. There was a Civil War as the Socialists took power. The Confederacy ended up being all states east of the Mississippi except SC and ME. I forgot to pause the game and ran from 1861-1865 without me as I was dealing with issues at home. I failed the expedition to map the western frontier (which allows you to purchase Oregon, Washington, and Idaho) six times in a row (I just saw that it's bugged) so I've decided to take it by force. Also going to liberate Canada as a puppet into an independent state. Russia is my ally, they owed me an obligation. But once I own Washington I can buy Alaska from Russia if they're in debt (which they will be after the war).
